Nextivity announced its CEL-FI QUATRA RED in-building public safety ERCES solution during the Mobile World Congress Los Angeles show this week. The solution provides seamless public safety communications for small and mid-sized businesses (SMB) to enterprise-sized buildings. QUATRA RED leverages the same architecture that carriers, integrators, building owners and public safety officials experienced when they used CEL-FI QUATRA. CEL-FI QUATRA RED will be available during the first quarter of 2020, but Nextivity previewed the system’s Coverage Unit for Mobile World Congress attendees.
CEL-FI QUATRA Red is Nextivity’s third product that was designed specifically for the public safety market.
“Designing a new approach to in-building public safety equipment has been a three-year journey for Nextivity,” Nextivity CEO Werner Sievers said in a statement. “By leveraging our award-winning technology and incorporating feedback from integrators and public safety professionals, we have designed CEL-FI solutions that are specifically for the public safety market and backed by our 100% performance assurance. “Whether we are addressing the requirements mandated by the certificate of occupancy or those of the local public safety authority, our all-new CEL-FI QUATRA RED delivers a complete solution that exceeds current industry performance levels and is easy to install.”
CEL-FI QUATRA RED is the first UL2524-listed public safety repeater solution that includes Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and FirstNet in one integrated package. It also supports four cellular LTE bands (4, 12, 25,14) and 700 and 800 MHz LMR. QUATRA RED also comprises everything an integrator or building owner needs to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy, including a Communications and Battery Backup unit, a Remote Annunciator Panel, and an Emergency Power-Off Switch (EPO).
The CEL-FI QUATRA Red was not the only product Nextivity unveiled this week. The company also announced its CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 in-building enterprise cellular system. The multi-carrier active DAS hybrid solution was designed and approved for use on all four major carrier networks in the United States. CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 provides seamless multi-carrier coverage from a single system in buildings up to 500,000 square feet. The solution’s capacity makes it ideal for mid-sized enterprises, according to Nextivity.
CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 is also the only product in its class on the market that supports up to 100db of gain. Every CEL-FI QUATRA Network Unit can support up to six Coverage Units and features a built-in cellular model for the new CEL-FI WAVE PRO Platform. It’s also the first integrated product to relay Time Division Duplex (TDD) LTE bands. The product can also be deployed off-air or connected to carriers’ small cells. It can also be integrated with carrier’s small cell equipment and operated in distributed small cell mode to create a multi-carrier Supercell™ (a large single cell as opposed to versus multiple independent small cells), which offers uniform access to capacity small cell produced in order to improve cell coverage in large or densely populated areas.
“With CEL-FI QUATRA 4000, middleprise customers across a wide range of industries now have the flexibility to select from our single, dual, or multi-carrier solutions, depending on their specific requirements,” Sievers said in a statement. “We have brought the full scope of coverage options to a largely underserved market while removing the cost, complexity, and time involved with traditional DAS solutions.”
Nextivity also announced its new strategic partnership with communications services provider Granite Telecommunications. Under the agreement, Granite Network Integration Group will deploy, monitor and manage CEL-FI solutions for both of its own large and medium enterprise clients on behalf of the U.S. mobile operators that have authorized using Nextivity’s in-building solutions on their networks.
“With the drive to cloud-based applications and communications, the need for reliable cellular coverage has never been more critical for businesses and governmental agencies to run smoothly and deliver a seamless customer experience,” Granite COO Rand Currier said in a statement. “Partnering with Nextivity enables Granite to provide cellular coverage as a service to our enterprise customers as well as to other providers’ customers on a wholesale basis.”
“Our partnership with Granite will allow us to reach a much broader audience,” Sievers added. “In particular, the middleprise segment of the market has been largely ignored, and has had to make do with cellular coverage solutions designed for either large enterprise applications or residential purposes in mind. The combination of our solutions and Granite’s extensive presence with enterprises of all sizes gives more businesses access to a solution tailored specifically for them.”
Granite will leverage its nationwide technical field force to deploy solutions across CEL-FI’s product line that includes CEL-FI QUATRA, a distributed antenna system (DAS) solves middleprises’ in-building coverage issues. Granite’s technicians will perform site surveys and installation. After CEL-FI’s systems have been deployed, Granite’s engineers in the company’s 24/7 Network Operations Center will use the CEL-FI WAVE software platform to monitor and manage CEL-FI systems for reliability and quality of service.
This partnership will also enable Granite Mobility Solutions to leverage its wholesale agreements with leading wireless carriers to better serve multi-location enterprises’ needs in numerous vertical markets including retail, education, healthcare and enterprise.
