Nextivity delivers heightened in-store experiences with CEL-FI GO G43

Smart mobile signal boosting solution unveiled at Retail Technology show, London Olympia 24-26 April

OLYMPIA, LONDON – April 11, 2024 – Nextivity, Inc., a global leader in the development of smart in-building mobile connectivity solutions, is unveiling its newest product, CEL-FI GO G43 at this year’s Retail Technology Show taking place at London Olympia from 24-26 April.

Perfect for retail and fast-food industries, this multi-operator solution provides well-known high-street brands with a fast and cost-effective means to improve mobile connectivity for customers, staff, and behind-the-scenes operations. This latest addition completes the Nextivity CEL-FI portfolio, overcoming mobile coverage challenges in any building type, from small convenience stores right through to large distribution centres, and complementing the CEL-FI QUATRA 4000e Active DAS Hybrid system.

Brick-and-mortar stores are becoming increasingly reliant on mobile phone connectivity for a range of applications, including cashless transactions, QR code access, in-store couponing, and kiosk connectivity, with smartphones providing the primary touch point. Reliable mobile connectivity is also central to facilitating consumer credit applications for high value ticket items (furniture, PCs, and consumer electronics, for example) as the dynamically generated OTPs (one-time passcodes) required for strong customer authentication (SCA) purposes and to progress the application are delivered via text message.

 Whilst most retailers have invested in guest Wi-Fi systems, a proper setup and secure network requires shoppers to accept usage terms and conditions, which also involves generating an OTP for authentication purposes, deliverable via text or email, which they cannot receive before they are connected. Wi-Fi networks are also not as secure as cellular networks where security is down to the mobile network operators. These security concerns, combined with sign-up process and need to accept usage terms, discourages most shoppers. As such they do not have connectivity, which in turn limits their spending power.
