Nextivity Introduces CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 to Power Indoor Cellular Coverage Across All Major US Carriers

CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 active DAS hybrid builds on existing versions of the award-winning technology to provide seamless multi-carrier coverage from a single system

LOS ANGELES – October 22, 2019 – Nextivity Inc. today announced the CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 in-building enterprise cellular system, a multi-carrier active DAS hybrid solution designed and approved for use on all four major carrier networks in the United States. CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 provides seamless multi-carrier coverage from a single system in buildings up to 500,000 square feet, making it an ideal solution for mid-sized enterprises. Nextivity will be showcasing CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 at Hall South Booth #2846 at Mobile World Congress Los Angeles.

CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 is an all-digital solution built on award-winning CEL-FI technology – Nextivity’s fourth generation Intelliboost chipset – and is the only product in its class on the market today that supports up to 100dB of gain. Each CEL-FI QUATRA Network Unit (NU) can support up to six Coverage Units (CU) and features a built-in cellular modem for the new CEL-FI WAVE PRO Platform. It is also the first integrated product to relay TDD (Time Division Duplex) LTE bands.

CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 can also be deployed off-air or tethered to carriers’ small cells, or it can be integrated with carriers’ small cell equipment and operated in distributed small cell mode to create a multi-carrier Supercell. A Supercell (i.e., a large single cell versus multiple independent small cells) provides uniform access to the capacity introduced by the small cell to improve cellular coverage in larger or densely populated areas. Supercells are inherently uncomplicated from a planning and deployment point of view and are far more resilient to the potential of interference or performance degradation considerations.

“With CEL-FI QUATRA 4000, middleprise customers across a wide range of industries now have the flexibility to select from our single, dual, or multi-carrier solutions, depending on their specific requirements,” says Werner Sievers, CEO of Nextivity. “We have brought the full scope of coverage options to a largely underserved market while removing the cost, complexity, and time involved with traditional DAS solutions.”

Similar to previous versions, CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 can be ordered, delivered, installed, and operational in a matter of weeks, at a lower installed cost per square foot compared to more expensive DAS systems that typically require between 12 and 24 months for deployment from start to finish. CEL-FI QUATRA achieves this by eliminating much of the complexity, and by leveraging RF-over-ethernet (RFoE) and Power-over-ethernet (PoE) technology.

Unlike other products that offer a single boost value to only the strongest input signal, CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 provides gain to each carrier signal independently, delivering maximum power levels across the board. That means subscribers across all networks can enjoy consistent, uninterrupted indoor coverage in hospitals, schools, shopping malls, manufacturing facilities, office buildings, and other indoor settings instead of only those whose carrier has the strongest signal.

CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 lends itself well to detailed and precise remote monitoring of both the equipment and the specific wireless environment which the equipment is serving with CEL-FI WAVE PRO. This substantially helps product support and will enable downstream partners to easily implement SLAs and recurring revenue models, if they so choose.

CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 is available in two versions, depending on the bands required for deployment. Integrators can purchase CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 via Nextivity’s master distributors, and end customers through Nextivity’s network of resellers.
