iBwave Adds CEL-FI Smart Signal Booster to Database of In-Building Network Components

iBwave tools help professionals, planners and installers determine the best CEL-FI placement and configuration to maximize indoor coverage.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – March 19, 2014 – Nextivity Inc. today announced that the CEL-FI smart signal booster has been added to the iBwave Network Components Database. iBwave is a global provider of highly sophisticated indoor network solutions used by service providers and enterprises to map out and manage wireless coverage and capacity. CEL-FI is the first smart signal booster to be included in iBwave’s database of network components.

“Industry players around the globe turn to iBwave to configure their in-building coverage needs, from base stations and antenna systems to cabling and small cells,” says Michiel Lotter, Chief Technology Officer at Nextivity, Inc. “This is a significant milestone in establishing CEL-FI’s role in the enterprise space and expanding our market base. Being part of the iBwave solution set strongly positions smart signal boosters as a viable component when planning enterprise deployments.”

The announcement follows the publication of the Small Cell Forum’s Release 2: Enterprise guidelines, which addresses the opportunity for smart signal boosters and small cell networks to work together in the enterprise to enhance coverage and capacity.

“Adding new technologies identified by the Small Cell Forum to our database, and making them directly accessible from our product suite ensures that our wireless network software continues to deliver value to installers, planners and carriers for wireless network deployments. It enables them to keep up with the latest technologies available to address their needs,” says Benoit Fleury, VP Products & Innovation at iBwave.

CEL-FI is the only booster on the market that has the built-in intelligence to work as an integrated small cell technology alongside femtocells, picocells, microcells and metrocells. As CEL-FI is carrier specific, it can meet the unique characteristics of different regions and service providers that use iBwave’s products and services.

Service providers can find additional information on CEL-FI in the iBwave in-building network components database: ibwavecomponents.com.
