SAN DIEGO, Calif.–October 31, 2014 – Nextivity Inc. announced today that is has been selected as a finalist in this year’s Fierce Innovation Awards: Telecom Edition, an operator-reviewed awards program from the publishers of FierceWireless, FierceTelecom and FierceCable. Nextivity was recognized as a finalist in the Cell Sites category.
Nextivity was selected as a finalist for its , a new dual-band smart signal booster designed for use on 3G, 4G LTE (including VoLTE) and UMTS networks. It offers dual-band support for up to 35MHz of boosted bandwidth, provides 10 times the gain of earlier versions, and uses patented echo-cancellation algorithms for stronger signals in the coverage area. It is the only dual-band smart signal booster designed to simultaneously boost UMTS/WCDMA voice as well as LTE signals. T-Mobile is the first wireless provider in North America to offer CEL-FI DUO to its customers.
CEL-FI DUO features Nextivity’s WAVE Self-Optimizing Networking (SON) capability, which enables various self-organizing algorithms to support no-touch, plug-and-play operation under any network deployment conditions. Additionally, the SON capability positions Nextivity’s family of smart signal boosters as the only ones identified by the Small Cell Forum as being suitable for deployment as part of small cell/heterogeneous networks.
“The built-in intelligence of the CEL-FI DUO booster makes it a painless and cost-effective solution for overcoming the challenge of poor-quality indoor coverage. It’s safe for mobile operators to deploy over their networks, and easy for their subscribers to set up,”said Werner Sievers, president and CEO of Nextivity. “T-Mobile has recognized this, and we are thrilled that the broader community of operators has acknowledged CEL-FI DUO as a finalist in this category.
