CEL-FI QUATRA Honored in Best in Biz Awards 2017

Nextivity’s CEL-FI QUATRA in-building enterprise cellular system has been named a silver winner in the Most Innovative Product of the Year: Enterprise category in the Best in Biz Awards, the only independent business awards program judged each year by prominent editors and reporters from top-tier publications in North America.

CEL-FI QUATRA delivers uniform in-building cellular coverage for the middleprise. An active DAS hybrid that is scalable, cost-efficient, and easy to deploy, QUATRA delivers high quality in- building cellular coverage in venues up to 200,000 sq. ft. As a hybrid solution, it combines the best of active DAS and CEL-FI technologies, which have been adopted by nearly 200 global carriers.

CEL-FI QUATRA delivers up to 100 dB of gain when deployed in off air mode, providing a signal that’s 1,000 stronger than typical BDA-based systems that only provide 70 dB of peak gain. This translates into more reliable coverage, for more people simultaneously. QUATRA can also be tethered to one or more small cells, creating a Supercell™ – a large single cell versus multiple small cells. This provides uniform access to the capacity introduced by the small cell. Supercells are inherently uncomplicated from a planning and deployment point of view, and are far more resilient to the potential of interference or performance degradation considerations.

“Traditional DAS solutions are cost-prohibitive to the middleprise, while femtocells and Wi-Fi calling do not have the reliability, quality of service, or management capabilities that a business requires,” explains Werner Sievers, CEO of Nextivity. “CEL-FI QUATRA addresses this gap, and we are pleased to have been recognized by Best in Biz as the solution to this problem.” Since it does not require fiber or the use of highly sophisticated design tools, CEL-FI QUATRA provides in-building coverage at a compelling price, and can be deployed by a certified installer in a few days. It intelligently self-configures and self-optimizes in response to environmental changes, thereby eliminating network interference and costly service calls to reconfigure systems.

Each year, Best in Biz Awards’ entrants span the spectrum, from some of the most innovative local start-ups to the most recognizable global brands. The seventh annual program was particularly hotly contested, with more than 650 entries from an impressive array of public and private companies of all sizes and from a variety of industries and geographic regions in the U.S. and Canada.

Since 2011, winners of Best in Biz Awards have been determined based on scoring from independent judging panels composed of prominent editors and reporters from some of the most respected newspapers, TV outlets, and business, consumer, technology and trade publications in North America. The 2017 judging panel included: Accounting Today, AdWeek, Associated Press, Atlanta Tribune, Business News Daily, Consumer Affairs, Entrepreneur, eWeek, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, Healthcare Innovation News, Inc., Investment Advisor Magazine, Laptop, MediaPost, Pittsburgh Business Times, Security Products Magazine, Wired, WLRN and Yahoo Tech.
