Commercial in-building cellular coverage solution from Nextivity recognized as “Industrial IoT Solution of the Year”
Nextivity announced today that CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 was named the Industrial IoT Solution of the Year in the 2020 Mobile Breakthrough Awards. QUATRA 4000 won based on the innovative deployment of the solution to help Charter Dura-Bar, the world’s largest producer of engineered cast iron bar products, build out a separate, secure cellular network to power IoT-enabled vending machines, and ensure employee communications between its buildings.
Mobile Breakthrough is a leading independent market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies, and products in the global wireless and mobile market. The mission of the annual Mobile Breakthrough Awards is to honor excellence and recognize the innovation, hard work, and success in a range of mobile and wireless technology categories, including Wireless and Broadband, Mobile Analytics, Cloud Computing, Mobile Management, IoT, Smart City and more. The 2020 awards program attracted more than 2,500 award nominations from all over the world.
CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 is a multi-carrier, hybrid active Distributed Antenna System (DAS) that provides uniform in-building cellular coverage to large commercial buildings. This multi-carrier solution amplifies and distributes the cellular signal from either the macro network for up to 100 dB gain (Off-Air Mode), or in combination with small cell(s) (Supercell Mode). The award-winning CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 Supercell configuration is when one or more carrier small cells are tethered together as the donor source, distributing the cellular capacity uniformly throughout a building right to its perimeter. QUATRA 4000 is carrier approved and guaranteed network safe. This scalable solution is configured in the U.S. to deliver the highest gain in the industry for all major carriers.
“Reliable cellular coverage is critical in every business setting and, in the case of Charter Dura-Bar, a key success factor for their IoT deployment. Without connectivity, even the most innovative IoT application can be rendered useless,” says Werner Sievers, CEO of Nextivity. “CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 solves the in-building cellular coverage challenges that large commercial spaces often face, with use cases ranging from keeping employees connected and increasing safety across school campus environments, to enabling coverage in underground parking garages and providing connectivity for retail POS systems and IoT applications.”
