These IoT/AI applications leverage the Nextivity cellular DAS infrastructure to add advanced sensing and other IoT capabilities with minimal investment and time-to-deployment. Nextivity DAS support various IoT technologies including Zigbee and BLE for quick deployment of off-the-shelf and proprietary sensing applications.
Most Nextivity DAS are deployed as off-air solutions, where the cellular signals being amplified, and distributed throughout the building come from a donor antennas mounted on the roof. With Nextivity QUATRA products, there is an option to deploy the systems in Supercell® Mode, where the QUATRA system is obtaining its signal from a small cell. In Supercell Mode, the QUATRA manages the uniform distribution of the small signal throughout the site, creating a single robust Supercell-enhanced signal source that covers the entire building.
A QUATRA in Supercell Mode is more efficient than multiple small cells as it ensures coverage signals do not interfere with each other and that call drops due to handover a are elminated. Supercell® Mode is useful in densely populated buildings where additional capacity is needed, creating a scalable solution at a fraction of the cost of legacy DAS.
