About the FirstNet Network

A Dedicated Communication Channel for those Dedicated to Our Communities

The First Responder Network Authority, known as FirstNet, was created in response to communication failures during major disasters. Before FirstNet, the high volume of mobile phone activity during emergencies hampered the macro network and prevented first responders from the having the connectivity they rely on to communicate. Now, essential workers – including the people that protect our communities – have access to an exclusive network that ensures their calls, texts, and data always get through.

Boosting FirstNet Coverage

The FirstNet network has evolved over time, now extending across the United States and into Puerto Rico. However, the same factors that block cellular signals and cause coverage gaps do the same to FirstNet signals. Trees, buildings, mountains, weather, and construction materials are notorious for preventing FirstNet signals from penetrating inside buildings or reaching remote locations. Nextivity offers a full portfolio of FirstNet solutions that boost FirstNet signals to ensure first responders and essential workers stay connected.
